I had both Reed and Mack come out to help with a roof inspection. After I called and provided some basic information, they were able to come out within just a couple of days. Reed and Mack walked the entire roof, took photos, and carefully inspected the areas of concern I had pointed out. To my surprise, no work was needed. Instead, I received reassurance, a detailed report (which they went out of their way to provide over the weekend), helpful advice, and valuable industry insight. Deeply appreciative. We're not contractors who show up after a storm and disappear when the job is done. Shamrock was founded right here in Kansas City, and we've grown by earning trust—one roof, one neighbor, one community at a time.
Get the best of both worlds: personalized local service backed by multi-state resources, certifications, and buying power—delivered by local offices and crews who are part of your community.
Shamrock is licensed, bonded, and insured across Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, and Texas. Consistent quality, consistent compliance—no matter where you are in the Midwest.
Many roofing companies specialize in one or the other. We've built deep experience across residential roofing and commercial roofing—from single-family homes to apartment complexes to large commercial buildings.
“Nearly 50 years. Over 10,000 roofs, 8 states. And we still treat every call like it’s our first—because your property matters to us as much as it does to you.”

Look for missing or lifted shingles, dented gutters, or granules collecting in your downspouts. However, hail and wind damage often aren't visible from the ground. A professional inspection with photo documentation is the best way to know for sure—most reputable roofing contractors offer this for free.
If damage is limited to a small area and your roof is under 15 years old, repair is usually the better choice. But if you're seeing widespread issues, multiple leaks, or your roof is approaching 20+ years, replacement often makes more financial sense. An honest inspection will help you decide.
Look for proper licensing, insurance, and local references. Check for manufacturer certifications from brands like Owens Corning or GAF. Avoid contractors who demand large upfront payments or pressure you to sign immediately. A trustworthy roofer will inspect first, explain your options, and put everything in writing.
Most homeowners policies cover roof damage from storms, hail, wind, and fallen trees—but not normal wear and tear. Document the damage with photos, file your claim promptly, and ask your roofing contractor to provide detailed documentation for your insurance company.
Impact-resistant asphalt shingles are popular for their durability against hail. Metal roofing handles temperature swings well and lasts 40-70 years. For flat commercial roofs, TPO and EPDM perform well in Midwest conditions. Your choice depends on budget, building type, and long-term goals.
At minimum, have your roof inspected every 2-3 years and after any major storm. Regular inspections catch small problems before they become expensive repairs. Many roofing companies offer free inspections—it's worth scheduling one if it's been a while.
