Shamrock Cares Scholarship Program

Shamrock Strives to Inspire Future Generations

Are you or someone you know a high school graduate pursuing higher education? Shamrock Roofing and Construction is offering a $1,000 scholarship to an eligible incoming college freshman for the fall 2025 semester. Check out our past recipients featured below.

We’re thrilled to announce the application process for the Fall 2025 Shamrock Cares Community Scholarship will open on January 1st, 2025. All applications must be submitted by the deadline of April 30th, 2025. After the application deadline, all submissions will be reviewed and the winner will be announced by May 30th, 2025.

Requirements for applicants:

Tell us a little about yourself, where you are from, and what your plans are for college! (BIO or CV a “plus”)

  • Must be a 2024-25 high school graduate
  • Must hold a grade point average of 2.5 or higher
  • Must submit an essay of at least 1,000 words
  • Must document volunteering with a photo

All scholarship applicants are instructed to engage in an activity that aids the community. It can be as simple as cleaning up a neighborhood park, volunteering time at a non-profit organization, or even helping out a friend or stranger in need.

When documenting the volunteer work, we ask for photos and the contact information of the person or organization you served. The 1,000-word essay should be about furthering your vision for your future and about your education. We’d love to know how your desired field of study will open up new opportunities to make a difference in the community and even the world.

Allie Kohl

College Olivet Nazarene University

Major: Social Work & Criminal Justice

Statement: “I will be paying my own way through college. I currently work while attending college and plan to continue throughout my education. My mantra has become Roy T. Bennett’s famous quote, “If you care about something enough, you’ll find a way to make it happen.”

Evan Kniffen

Texas A&M University

Major: Engineering & Mathematics

Statement: “Leadership sets apart those who write from those who are written. I plan to major in Engineering concentrating in Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics at Texas A&M University, hopefully going to Princeton for my Master’s degree in mathematics soon after; this cannot be done without an intense love of learning. I hope to spread this love of learning from College Station to Newark.”

Natasha Groves

NOVA Community College

Major:  Mathematics

Statement: “I plan to attend the University of Virginia this fall and pursue a degree in math. I love learning new things, including different recipes for cooking and crochet patterns. But also, I enjoy learning about math, biology, and physics. To me, these subjects are very complicated yet fascinating. Also, I really enjoy developing research projects. Last year, I interned at a university and created a mathematical dance project that was mentored by a professor. My abstract for this project was published on the GMU Journal of Student Research page.”

Maximilian J Clemente

The Catholic University of America

Major: Architecture and Civil Engineering

Statement: “I am excited to gain further knowledge, apply my skills, and lead others in hopes of one day owning my own residential construction business. I also plan to stay involved in St. Vincent de Paul. However, in the future I hope to be able to contribute as a donor and serve as a leader in the organization to help those in need be able to afford their housing payments. Service to me is not a choice but a privilege. If I wish to expect or receive anything from the community I live in, then I have to give back something in return. The ability to help solve the affordable housing crisis in my community would contribute to a more positive and stable environment for all of my neighbors.”

Caitlin James

Clemson University

Major: Engineering

Statement: “I have had to adapt and change to meet each group’s dynamics, and have learned how to bring my strengths to the table. My podcast group ended up winning “Best High School Podcast” two years in a row at the national Intercollegiate Broadcasting Systems awards in NYC. My childhood experiences, combined with my classes and work experience, have prepared me for a professional career. My goal is to be a successful engineer and to use that career to benefit others.”
